A0 Total Beginners - A0 students learn English for the first time. Maybe they know a few words, but they can't create and understand sentences.

A1 Beginners - A1 level students understand sentences and words concerning themselves and their surroundings. They are only able to have a very simple conversation with a speaker who has patience with them. They can express only the basic ideas they know from their studies. They can fill out short forms concerning them.

A2 Pre-Intermediate - A2 level students understand the spoken word that concerns them or someone around them, things like shopping or work. They can read simple texts and orientate eg. in menus. They are able to chat easily, to spread information about themselves and partially use past tenses. They are also capable of simple description. They can write simple letters about themselves.

B1 Intermediate - B1 level students understand current affairs topics. They understand texts that contain feelings and events using basic words. They understand each other in everyday life situations and are free to discuss topics that are familiar to them. They can tell and describe their desires, write texts in the field of their interests or write letters using the conditional method.

B2 Upper-Intermediate - B2 level students understand most of the spoken words that deal with common issues (television, film). The same is true when reading texts. They can also read prose written in the current language. They are able to talk fluently to native speakers in a familiar area. They can express their views on the problem and talk about advantages or disadvantages. They are able to write a detailed text from their area and clearly capture its meaning.

C1 Advanced - C1 level students understand unstructured speech, too. They are familiar with radio and television programs. They understand and empathize with literary texts, they understand professional texts. They communicate flexibly and express their thoughts clearly and without difficulty. They are able to speak clearly and in detail on all possible topics. In the written text they can choose the appropriate style for the reader.

How do you know what English level does your child have?


The level of English is usually indicated in the child's textbook.

If the child does not have any textbook yet, he/she probably has A0 level.

Kindergarten children usually have A0, primary school children usually have A0-A1, secondary school children usually have A1-A2, high school students usually have A2-B1. But it's individual.

You don't have to worry much with children, because we check the English level of your child during the first class and then choose the appropriate material for your child.
